Hako-Med Horizontal Therapy
German-engineered electromedicine that goes beyond ordinary TENS or muscle stim — an FDA-cleared therapy for chronic pain and nerve conditions, delivered comfortably through the skin with no needles, drugs, or downtime.
What Is Horizontal Therapy?
Electrotherapy has been used for decades to manage pain — TENS units, muscle stimulation, interferential current, and microcurrent each play a role. But traditional devices work on only one channel of cellular communication at a time: either the bioelectrical signals nerves use, or the biochemical processes tissues use to heal.
Hako-Med's patented Horizontal Therapy was engineered in Germany to do both simultaneously. Our clinic uses the Hako-Med PRO ElecDT HT Regenerator, a current-generation horizontal therapy system. By holding the electrical intensity constant while sweeping through a range of frequencies, it creates bioelectric and biochemical effects in the same tissue during the same session — something conventional single-mode electrotherapy cannot do.
For you, treatment is simple: comfortable electrode pads are placed around the treatment area, the system runs a program selected for your condition, and you relax. The current is painless — many patients feel only light tingling, and some feel nothing at all.

What Hako-Med Is Used For
Hako-Med devices are FDA-cleared for pain indications, and horizontal therapy is used in our clinic as part of care plans for:
A Key Tool in Our Neuropathy Program
If you live with burning, tingling, or numb feet, you already know how few options you've been offered beyond medication. Horizontal therapy is one of the advanced, non-drug technologies we combine in our peripheral neuropathy care program — alongside NeuroMed Matrix therapy, laser therapy, and balance training — to address nerve symptoms from multiple directions.
Learn About Our Neuropathy CareIs It Safe?
Yes — Hako-Med devices are FDA-cleared and the currents used have been rigorously tested against biomedical device standards. Treatment is non-invasive and painless. Horizontal therapy is not used for patients with pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices, over areas of active infection or known blood clots, or during pregnancy.
